I'm looking for 5-6 volunteers to break down a PPS dinner/fundraiser on Saturday, October 20 from 11pm - 1am at the GTECH building.
I know it's a lot to ask for, given the time of the day but if you know anyone who needs to log volunteer hours and/or simply has nothing better to do on a Saturday night.....please get in touch with me.

Hi, I'm a junior who just got back from a college fair where Providence College was in attendance. I talked to the guy (didn't catch his name, sorry!) and he basically made me swear to take calculus and an honors science my senior year. He was very militant; my mom was even a bit scared.

I'm not a very science-math oriented person, so that kinda frightened me. My senior year's classes include AP Euro, AP Eng IV, Spanish 5, and a class at Wheaton College.

I wanted to know how many of you didn't take calculus or a science, honors or not, their senior year. My freshman year was earth science, soph was bio, and I'm currently taking chemistry. All of those were honors.

Thanks!

Hey folks..new grad student here [Sep. 15th, 2006|03:58 am]

Hey all. Are there any other current grad students out there besides me? I feel pretty strange at PC.. i went to Regis in Mass as an undergrad (yeah, another religious school, even though I am an Atheist)..and it was about 800 students, all girls, and very progressive. Now I'm at PC, which is pretty huge, co-ed, and not very progressive as far as I can tell..going for my M.A in history (european) with high hopes of getting into a ph.d program in a couple of years.
Anyone have any tips that might make my transition easier? Are there any particularly cool places to enjoy a snack or get online during a break?
Also, what information do any of you have about
Dr. Mccafrey, Dr. Quilan, and Fr. Mcgonigle?
Have any of you come away from PC and gotten into Ivy leaque schools for Masters or PhD? What is the rep of this place in reality as compared to statistically?

If you're north of DC and east off the Mississippi, there are twenty roller derby leagues. If you want the best, you have two choices: Gotham Girls Roller Derby in NYC and Providence Roller Derby in Rhode Island. On August 26th, they're going head to head for the first time in front of your very eyes. These women don't have money or glamour on the line (well maybe a little glamour), they're fighting for pride. Oh yes, there will be blood, and a lot of sweat, but not a single tear. There is no crying in roller derby.
